About

Festival + Staff
Tzlil Meudcan (Hebrew for “updated tone”) is an international festival and a research platform dedicated to Contemporary Chamber Music. Founded in 2007, Tzlil Meudcan takes place in Tel Aviv, Israel, every summer in early July. The festival’s core is the presentation of concerts featuring some of the most current and vibrant artists on the scene—composers & performers, alongside performances of long time classics. Concomitant with this concert activity, we’ve switched our attention from a composers’ hub (Between 2010 – 2018 we’ve ran a composers’ summer course led by composers Chaya Czernowin, Steven Takasugi, Pierluigi Billone & Jose Maria Sanchez Verdu among others) to a research oriented venue, which offers opportunities for musicologists to come and spend a week in Tel Aviv, present their work, contribute texts and insights on the festival’s content, and most importantly interact with other colleagues—local and International, musicians and musicologists.
