Amir Lekach Avivi is a Graduate student at the musicology department of the Hebrew University. Double majored in musicology and earth sciences at the Hebrew University. His main research interests are the convergences of Jewish, Soviet, Russian, and Israeli musical habitats and aesthetics during the second half of the 20th century and beyond, especially following the collapse of the former Soviet Union and the subsequent mass emigration of composers and musicians. His current research is focused on the Georgian-born composer Josef Bardanshvili, which emigrated to Israel in 1995, and the compositions he wrote during the decade that surrounded this emigration.
