Amir Lekach Avivi is a Graduate student at the musicology department of the Hebrew University. Double majored in musicology and earth sciences at the Hebrew University. His main research interests relate to the convergence of Jewish, Soviet, Russian, and Israeli musical habitats and aesthetics during the second half of the 20th century and beyond, before and after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the subsequent mass emigration of composers and musicians. His current research is focused on the Georgian-born composer Josef Bardanshvili, who emigrated to Israel in 1995, and his early compositions written in Soviet Georgia during the 1970s.
